Kick-Off Meetings & Overview

Ultra Training Program:   January 21, 2009
Half Marathon Training Program:   February 11, 2009
10K Training Program:   March 25, 2009

• Distance-specific program kick-off event hosted for members at The North FaceŽ Store with program coaches.
• Distance-specific, detailed training program guide and schedule developed by Carmichael Training Systems to prepare for The North FaceŽ Endurance Challenge - Bear Mountain.
• The North FaceŽ training kit provided to each participant at the kick-off meeting.
• Weekly training runs (2 per week) led by professional ultra marathon coaches.
• One short to mid-distance, Wednesday evening run.
• One mid to long distance, Saturday morning run.
• Weekly eNewsletter outlining weekly training schedules, running routes, gear recommendations, nutrition information, hydration suggestions, equipment tips, body maintenance, and more.
• 24/7 e-mail access to coaches for more in-depth, personalized training information.
• Exclusive training runs and "meet and greets" with The North FaceŽ Endurance team members on select weekends.

Runners will be able to store bags with The North Face store managers during the group run.

Saturday Group Runs:
Location varies from week to week. Bear Mountain course scouting trips will be scheduled at various times throughout the program.

Each week’s schedule will be emailed to club members every Tuesday afternoon. This email will include meeting times, location changes, and tips to prepare you for each training run.



Meet the Coach:   RENEE GERARDO


Multi Sport and Endurance Race Training
After trading the mountain trails of Colorado for the trails of Central Park 8 years ago, Renee began the adventure of triathlon training and racing. She has competed in numerous Half Ironman distance races as well as Ironman Lake Placid. In training for multi sport and endurance trail running, Renee has had the opportunity to explore the challenging terrain of upstate New York as well as utilize some unconventional training methods (think snow+tires+hills). For the past couple of years she has been coaching and motivating athletes to reach their maximum potential in multi sport and endurance running. As an exercise physiologist she strives to provide sound and innovative coaching to every individual she works with.
