Bio:

Raised in the Basque Country of Northern Spain, Eneko Pou became enamored of climbing as a child, journeying often into the Pyrenees and the Alps with his parents and his brother, Iker. This childhood crush turned into a full-blown love affair in 1998, when Eneko was selected as a member of the first Spanish Young Mountaineer Team. While deeply committed to mountaineering, Eneko was not content to limit himself to rock climbing, and instead explored the many disciplines of mountain adventuring: rock climbing, ski mountaineering, ice climbing and high-altitude alpinism.

From 1999-2002, Eneko equitably shared his multi-disciplined mountaineering love, achieving many successes, including a litany of free climbs all over the planet, several extreme ski descents in the Pyrenees and the Spanish Sierra Nevada, and expeditions to Annapurna and Ama Dablam in the Himalaya. Along the way, Eneko garnered a slew of awards and honors for his mountaineering prowess, as well for his attention to safety.

In 2002, Eneko dreamed up a new project, a huge undertaking that would allow him to join forces with his brother to explore the unknown and discover the limits of their own strength and stamina. Over the next five years, Eneko and Iker undertook the Seven Walls-Seven Continents Project, free climbing a significant and characteristic big wall on each of the world's continents, starting in 2003 with the El Niño route on Yosemite's El Capitan.

On Christmas Day 2007, Eneko and Iker celebrated the climax of the Seven Walls-Seven Continents Project with the successful free climb of an important new route on the Antarctic Peninsula: the first ascent of Three Pigs via a new route the brothers named Azken Paradisua.
