Kami Semick Captures National Title, Diane Van Deren Nabs 4th 100-Miler Race Of The Season

SAN LEANDRO, California -August 31, 2006- This past weekend, August 26-27, The North Face Endurance Team Athletes Kami Semick, Nikki Kimball, and Diane Van Deren finished strong in ultra-marathons in California and Washington.

Kami Semick won the U.S. National 50K Trail Championships at the Golden Gate Headlands 50K, north of San Francisco, California, known to be one of the toughest 50K courses in the country, with The North Face teammate Nikki Kimball finishing second. The two crossed the finish line within minutes of each other, at 4:25:15 and 4:29:50, respectively.

Further up the coast, Diane Van Deren continued her incredible ultra-distance summer, with a third-place finish at the very difficult Cascade Crest Classic 100-Mile Endurance Run in Washington State. Many people have described it as one of the toughest mountain courses in the country as it climbs more than 20,000 feet and runs almost entirely on trail. This marks Diane's fourth 100-mile run this year, an impressive list that includes the Bighorn 100, McNaughton Park 100, and Tahoe Rim Trail 100.
