MSA² Backpanel

The Maximum Surface Area Backpanel (MSA²) works together with the X-Frame Suspension to provide an innovative pack suspension. While the X-Frame Suspension distributes the pack weight, the MSA² Backpanel contacts key body points for even support and uniquely suspends the breathable backpanel from the pack load for long distance comfort.

Combined Surface Area
The MSA² backpanel evenly disperses the pack load over the entire surface area of the back to create uniform contact between the body and the pack components by evenly distributing the load over a larger surface area. The MSA² prevents hot spots that form when pressure is uneven.

Breathable Backpanel
The MSA² backpanel is made of lightweight and breathable Aerofoam that promotes air circulation through foam channels to keep you dry and comfortable. Plus, the wicking nature of the Aerofoam moves moisture away from your back preventing sweat build-up on the backpanel. The soft and flexible Aerofoam molds itself to the unique shape of each torso for a comfortable and lasting fit.

Independent Suspension
The MSA² Backpanel is attached to the pack by two stretch Cordura® panels to form an Independent Suspension feature that uniquely isolates the Aerofoam backpanel from the pack load, so you are reminded of the performance features of the backpanel not the contents of your load. Isolating the backpanel in this way not only improves load carrying comfort, but also prevents odd shaped, poorly packed items like boots, tent poles or crampons from protruding through the backpanel into your back.
